The video installation, Fun With Flags, represents the status quo of an ongoing research into the aesthetics, narratives, and symbolic dimensions woven into the complex phenomenon of flags. By collaging found footage sequences displayed on a flying white flag tied to a metal pole, the many threads that connect the conflicting ideas inherent to every flag are being explored: unity and demarcation, affiliation and exclusion. The continuous stream of found footage reflects the emotional range that flags provoke, hosting the associations and relationships people attach to them.
